Ricki Weston left Rydon in 2004 and went to Steyning Grammar. Since leaving school he went on to become a chef; he currently works at South Lodge Hotel in the Michelin Star restaurant.
He was runner-up in Sussex Young Chef 2014 and has just won a National Young Chef Competition. He will now represent the UK at the finals in South Africa in September 2014.


Former pupil, Jacob Menear has just graduated from London Metropolitan University with a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Musical Instruments (where he learnt to make acoustic stringed instruments by hand). He also won the ‘University Recognition Award for academic excellence, Best First Class Honours award -Top 50 student' this year. In addition, he came second in the Wood Section, at the Young Craftsman of the Year award at the South of England Show, with one of his hand made Sympitars (a guitar with internal sympathetically harmonising strings). Jacob is currently studying for a MA on the design feature of sympitars, also at London Metropolitan University. Great achievement.


Frank Howell sat for his GCSE in Chinese - while still a pupil at Rydon! Not only did Frank pass his GCSE exam, but he was awarded an A* Grade for his effort, an exceptionally good performance.


Alex Brien      Thomas Baker 


Former Rydon students (1996-1999), Alex Brien (above left) and Thomas Baker (above right) received their degrees at their graduation in July this year. Alex gained a First Class Honours Degree in Chemistry from Loughborough and Thomas gained a First Class Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from Nottingham.
