School Uniform

 

At Rydon we believe a sense of togetherness and belonging creates a firm basis for a good education.

 

Everyone wearing the uniform should take pride in their appearance. College uniform should be worn correctly so that pupils present a smart appearance at ALL times.

 

Uniform 
Girls: White Polo shirt with logo* (not to show below sweatshirt)
  Round neck sweatshirt with logo*
  Sweatshirt cardigan with pockets with logo* (optional)
  Plain black knee-length skirt (max 2” /5cm above the knee) or
  Black tailored trousers (no jean-like style or material. No studs, sequins or embellishments) or
  Plain black culottes
  Socks - Plain white or plain black socks or black or grey tights
  - trainer socks and ‘footsies’ are acceptable
  Shoes - Trainers, plimsoll or canvas type and ballerina pumps are not appropriate footwear
  Black fleece with red logo (optional)
  Checked red/white summer dress (optional)
   
Boys: White Polo shirt with logo* (not to show below sweatshirt)

  Sweatshirt cardigan with pockets with logo* (optional)
  Black tailored trousers
  Black/dark grey tailored shorts (optional)
  Socks - Plain black or grey socks
  - trainer socks are acceptable
  Shoes - Plain black (not trainers or boots)
  (Black trainers are not school uniform – distinguishing marks of training shoes: logos, multiple lacing holes, lack of distinct heel and raised achilles tendon guard).
  Black fleece with red logo (optional)
   
During the Summer Term, sweatshirts can be removed but, if so, a white polo shirt with the College logo must be worn.
 
 
PE Uniform
Girls: Polo Shirt in House colour*
  Black Shorts*
  Red Socks*
  Black 'Rydon' Tracksuit*
Boys: Polo Shirt in House colour*
  Black Shorts*
  Red Socks*
  Rugby Shirt*
  Black 'Rydon' joggers*
  Black ‘Rydon’ tracksuit top (optional)
   
Swimming Wear:
Girls: Plain dark coloured costume
Boys: Plain dark coloured trunks - not 'Bermuda' shorts
   
Please provide a towel for all PE lessons and activities

 

No make-up may be worn.
No jewellery, except ear studs where necessary is to be worn

 

Hair Styles
Pupils are expected to keep within the appearance standards that we expect at Rydon. Hair should be neat, tidy and not exaggerated. Hair should be of a natural colour, without 'tram lines' or patterns and not over spiked or the so called Mohican style. Hairstyles must be appropriate for learning and not infringe health and safety regulations.

Rydon provides a very good second hand uniform service, if you have uniform to donate, especially if your child is leaving at the end of term, or you would be interested in certain items please contact Michelle Blake on 01903 746479.

 

Pupils not dressed in the correct uniform will either be required to change or will work separately from other pupils in Pupil Services Department or will be sent home from the College.
